It is said that writer Madhu Muttom made
Manichitratazhu's storey base on a true tragedy happen in 19th century in
Alummoottil palace of Travancore family. But there is no black and white prove
as the evidence. Whatever it is, the film 'Manichitratazhu' become a huge it
and one of the best movies ever in Malayalam.
In 2004 it remade
in to Kanada as 'Apthamitra ' and it was a big hit also.But in 2005 when the
movie remade in Tamil and Telugu it become very famous and gain a lot of
attention from audience around the world.
In 2005, the same storey
remade in to Bengali as Rajmohol and finally remade in to Hindi as 'Bhool Bhulaiya’,
which is also a box-office hit. Shobana, Soundarya and Jyotika received
National award for their role from Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu state.
