There are a lot of techniques and art
in film making. Certain films are told chronologically. Like ‘Thuppaki’, ‘Matraan’
and ‘Bommarilu’. The most common way in Indian cinema is flash back essaying style.
From ‘Nenjam Marapathillai’ to this day’s ‘Mahadeera’ and ‘Ezham Arivu’ flash
back plays it role. This style will create a kind curiosity in fans mind.
But
there is another style which less common in Indian film. It is said that this
style origin from Italy films and director K.Balanchander brought it in to
Tamil cinema in his ‘Aval Oru Thodarkathai’ in 1975.The unique of this
technique is the movie starts and ends at the same place, completing a circle.
The
movie starts in town bus showing Sujatha going to work for her big family. The
same scene repeated at the end when Sujatha again going to work for her widowed
sister in law after her marriage planning fail. It creates sympathy for Sujatha’s
role in the movie.
The
movie starts when Sham is preparing for his interview, but the meeting of three
characters (Sham, Jyotika and Simran) was set in hospital where Sham following Jyotika
and suddenly Simran come out from a room and crying on her friends shoulder. The
end of the movie also set at the same hospital where Jyothika’s lover Sham following
her from behind and suddenly Simran appear from a room and crying for her lover
Sham’s death. If you watch the movie , you will get it.
The
movie starts showing that Jeeva in a politician’s campaign and Vikram at Isha
Sharvani’s wedding. At the end, the same scenes were repeated but this time we
can understand the entire storey. Somewhere in the movie Tabu told Vikram that
when his wife elope with someone with Tabu’s jewelry , she was crying , not for
her friend but because of her lost jewelry .At the end director finish this
movie when Tabu was crying for Vikram’s broken love. It is really nice end.
